Gwen Stefani Changed From Feather Set to Floral Catsuit at ACM Awards

It’s hard enough to plan one date-night outfit, but Gwen Stefani pulled out two when she and husband Blake Shelton spent Thursday evening at the Academy of Country Music Awards—and performed onstage together there too.

When Stefani and Shelton arrived at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas, their outfits certainly aligned with the country vibes of the ceremony. The No Doubt singer looked like she had just stepped out of an Old West saloon in her bronze leather jacket-and-skirt set from Roberto Cavalli, which was covered in a layer of multicolored feathers in hues of blue, silver, brown, and gold.

This set was the focal point of Stefani’s fit, and her stylists, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, layered a lace Intimissimi bodysuit underneath, as well as a pair of fishnet stockings. Stefani wore a pair of strappy, caramel-colored platform sandals (also from Roberto Cavalli) to wrap up the look, and accessorized with jewelry from Loree Rodkin.

Shelton chose a black blazer with leather shoulder detailing, which he layered over a black button-up and paired with blue jeans. He rounded things out with a pair of brown leather boots.

The two weren’t done with their fashion show yet, though. Partway through the ceremony, Stefani hit the stage with her country-star husband, and they changed up their looks before performing new duet “Purple Irises” side by side.

For the performance, Stefani sported a dazzling purple catsuit from the Rahul Mishra Fall ’23 couture show—which undoubtedly befitted the song, as it made her look like one giant purple flower. The sleeveless, asymmetrical design was covered in sparkles, and the bodice was composed of large panels of fabric made to look like petals. Down low, Stefani had slipped into a pair of silver sky-high platforms from Pleaser USA.

Shelton kept most of his outfit the same, but toned things down by switching into a wholly black blazer for the number, allowing Stefani’s look to shine—which it quite literally did.
